Jodie Allen was born in Lynchburg, Tennessee, on July 5, 1874. His parents were David Phillip Coleman Allen (1832-1894) and Emaline McAfee Allen (1833-1907).
Jodie first married Mary Eliza Gattis (1876-1900) and their children were: 1) William Clyde (1894-1957); 2) George Coleman (1897-1958); and 3) Mary Emaline (1900-1914). Jodie’s second wife was Minnie Lee Davis (1878-1936). There were no chidren from this union.
Jodie died on Father’s Day, June 16, 1946, a few days before his 72nd birthday. He was at the home of his Clyde in Hasse. At the time of his death, William Clyde was living in Comanche County and George Coleman was living in Phoenix, Arizona. He had eleven grandchildren. His brother, Charley Allen, was living in Comanche County.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, 1946, at Indian Creek Methodist Church and interment was in Indian Creek Cemetery.
