Orpha Louise Elms was born in Independence County, Arkansas. Her parents were Jacob “Joab” Elms(1844-1930) and Mary Lindsay(1843-1928).
Orpha married Albert Bennett “A.B.” Aldridge (1872-1936), August 28, 1892. He was the son of Arcadia “Kate” Campbell(1855-1914), the first white female born in Comanche County, and Dr. A. B. Aldridge. Orpha and Albert are listed on the 1910 Texas Census in Abilene, Texas, in April and in Comanche County in June.
Orpha and Albert had three children: Bonnie Albertina(1893-1973) married George Sidney Reeves(1893-1970); Richard Campbell “R.C.” (1901-1973) married Tweena L. (1904-1980); Jay Darrell (1904-1972) married Cleora Smith (1909-2001).
After Orpha died in 1916, Albert remarried Nora R. Sheppard (1877-1927). Albert died in 1936 and is buried at Camp Verde Cemetery, Kerr County, Texas.
