Meeting Minutes for June 7, 2026

Meeting was called to order at 11:30 a.m. by President Wayne Parsons and invocation was given by same.

Approval of Minutes:  No minutes were presented for review and approval by the secretary.  No vote was taken.

Approval of Financial Report:  Faylene (Isham) Brown presented the financial report showing current balance at $37,879.66.  Karen (Parsons) Wilkerson made motion for approval and LaVerne (Bowman) Dillashaw seconded.

Old Business: 

Discussion was brought up regarding approval to place a permanent marker at a cost of $900.00 for Charles Stewart “Charley” Anderson, born 21 Oct 1876 and died 22 Feb 1938.  His grave is next to his mother, Arcadia Matilda “Kate” Campbell Aldridge Anderson born 20 Sep 1855 and died 30 Oct 1914.  She was the first female white child born in Comanche County.  Gala (York) Samuels made the motion to approve the purchase and motion was seconded by Karen Wilkerson.

The bridge at the cemetery is still closed and it is not sure when it will be repaired.  The repair of the bridge has been approved by the County Commissioners.

New Business:

There was one burial this year.  Brian Alan Parsons born 20 Nov 1981 and died 12 Feb 2026.  He was the son of Wayne and Mary Parsons, sister of Karen Wilkerson.

 

The status of the gate(s) at the cemetery was discussed and the possibility of repairing or replacement.  A study of the cost will be made and presented at the next meeting.

 

It was discussed that the cemetery will be needing a new grounds person after this year.  Search will be during the year.

 

Election of Officers:

Motion was made by Robert Williams and seconded by Carol Sue (Bowman) Williams that officers remain the same.  Vote passed.

Vice-President:  LaVerne Dillashaw

Secretary:  Gala Samuels

Treasurer:  Faylene Brown

We will need to replace four directors and a search will be conducted.

Next meeting will Sunday, June 6, 2027.  

Benediction was given by Wayne Parsons.

Motion made for adjournment by Karen Wilkerson and seconded by LaVerne Dillashaw.  Motion passed.
