1936 was the year that Comanche, Texas, celebrated its 80th birthday. Many of the old families had their reunions within weeks of each other during the months of July and August. The Old Settlers reunion in Comanche was held in August. These stories appeared in the Comanche Chief that year. The annual meeting began on August 2 and ran until August 12, 1936
